The Super Shorts New York Film Festival celebrated its 2026 edition with three screening nights at Film Noir Cinema, showing shorts from around the globe. 

 

Festival curator Kris De Meester: "Looking back on this first edition, we are especially delighted by the turnout. Despite the storm that coincided with our screenings, audiences showed up in great numbers, which was incredibly encouraging. We are also proud to have put together a diverse and well-balanced programme, bringing together experimental and more accessible works, with voices and perspectives from a wide range of cultural backgrounds. It was particularly rewarding to see this diversity reflected in the audience itself, with people from many different communities coming together through cinema. That, for us, is exactly what we hoped this festival would achieve.”
